Trauma treatment
Trauma is an overwhelming experience that leaves us feeling intense fear, loss of control and helpless. Trauma is an inevitable part of life and we are “designed” to survive trauma. Everybody will have exposure of trauma in some form or other in life – the loss the of a loved one, an accident, an attack – physical or emotional, by witnessing something horrible, a natural disaster happening or the experience of war.
I am trained in Somatic Experiencing (SE) trauma resolution. I use SE to help people find a solution to a traumatic experience “held” in the body. “Talking” therapy does not always help people to resolve their traumatic symptoms, the understanding and making sense of trauma isn’t enough, because the trauma is in the nervous system over which we have no conscious control.
SE is a highly effective method that makes the release of the trauma in the body possible while permitting the client to manage emotions and bring back energy and life zest. It works with all ages of individuals who have experienced shock or developmental trauma.
